Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about GC Integrative, the resources available and how care works.

What is the Physio-Qi Method?
The Physio-Qi Method is a physiotherapist-designed, qigong-informed therapeutic movement program created by Gary Chen. It blends slow mindful movement, breath and balance with Western rehabilitation safety and screening. It is delivered as an evidence-informed adjunct within physiotherapy scope and does not replace individual physiotherapy assessment or treatment.
What is whole-person physiotherapy?
Whole-person physiotherapy at GC Integrative addresses both the structural side — joints, muscles and movement — and the regulation side — breath, nervous system tone and body awareness — as one connected system. Care is guided by the GC Health Model, a six-stage clinical cycle from easing tension through to confident self-management.
Are these resources suitable for older adults?
Yes. The patient guides, public courses and community programs are written for older adults, their families and carers — covering falls prevention, balance confidence, breath and pacing, and staying active with age. All content is general education only and not a substitute for individual physiotherapy assessment.
What is the difference between public courses and the practitioner Academy program?
Public courses are general movement education for patients, families and wellness learners — covering topics such as falls prevention, breath and balance. The Physio-Qi Method Practitioner Program is a separate professional education pathway for healthcare workers. It does not expand professional scope of practice and is not APA-approved or CPD-accredited.
Is The Wellness Bridge podcast free?
Yes. The Wellness Bridge podcast is freely available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. It features long-form conversations on whole-person physiotherapy, the GC Health Model, the Physio-Qi Method and evidence-informed care for older adults and people living with chronic pain. Content is general education only and not individual health advice.
Where is GC Integrative based and what area does it serve?
GC Integrative Physiotherapy & Wellness is based on the North Gold Coast, Queensland. Services are delivered in-home, in residential aged care and retirement village settings, and in community and clinic environments across the North Gold Coast region.
