Palliative Physiotherapy & Dignity Support is for people living with serious, life-limiting, advanced chronic or end-of-life-related conditions.
The focus is supporting dignity, safe movement, comfort-oriented function, participation where appropriate, carer confidence and communication with the existing care team.
This service may be relevant for people receiving support through CHSP, Support at Home, NDIS, aged-care facilities, retirement villages, home-care providers, care coordinators, GP/allied-health referrers, palliative-care referrers or community programs.

What physiotherapy may support.
Subject to clinical assessment and the person’s existing care plan, physiotherapy support may include:
Safe mobility & transfers
Functional movement, transfers and mobility support within physiotherapy scope.
Comfort-oriented movement
Positioning, gentle movement and participation where clinically appropriate.
Strength, balance & function
Movement support that respects energy, tolerance and patient-centred goals.
Carer confidence
Communication with family, carers or facility staff around safe physical support.
Environment observations
Equipment and environmental observations relevant to safe movement and comfort.
Care-team liaison
Approved liaison notes to the existing care team where consent and scope allow.
Boundaries
What this service is not.
Clear boundaries protect patients, families, care teams and GC Integrative.
- ✓Not full multidisciplinary palliative care.
- ✓Not emergency, urgent, crisis or 24/7 care.
- ✓Not nursing care, medication advice, medical management or prognosis advice.
- ✓Not counselling, grief counselling, spiritual care or legal/end-of-life decision-making.
- ✓No guarantee of comfort, pain relief, a peaceful end-stage journey, mobility, independence or any fixed result.
- ✓Not a replacement for the person’s GP, hospital, specialist, palliative-care team, facility team or emergency services.
